Today, Yara (from Once Upon a Twilight) has stopped by Treasured Tales to help continue the Twilight 5th Anniversary celebration. Thank you, Yara, and welcome to Treasured Tales.
Once Upon a Twilight…
There was this magazine that pictured a book with an apple held by some very pale hands. So I read this ad and saw that a second book had just been released that pictured a white with red ruffled tulip on its cover. So I said hmmm, I should check these books out. I had no clue from that ad that I would be introduced to young adult novels. Well little did I know that these books were going to affected me like a drug. Life stop moving around me as I inhaled these books and my life was FOREVER changed. It was a rough time waiting for the next 2 books to be published, but I survived. Then one day the news that the first book, the one with its pale hands holding that apple would be turing into a feature film. I swear I heard the Hark Angels sing. As excited as I was, I still couldn’t believe it.
So when Twilight finally hit theaters nationwide on November 21st 2008, once again my life was changed FOREVER along with millions of other fans. Our beloved characters that changed our lives when we read the 4 books, were now real or as real as they could get). I might not have agreed with certain castings or what nots, but still ‘Twilight‘ was ALIVE.
We might have laughed or cringed at certain times during the movie. But it didn’t matter, it would be the stepping stone and beginning to the Twilight Phenomena. Because the other 4 films to follow in Twilight’s footsteps were Epic and will always be treasured alongside Twilight.
5 years later after 5 films, 5 Red Carpets, 4 full length novels, 1 novella and everything else in between we continue to love and remember why we were irrevocably changed by one woman’s dream about a Human girl and a sparkly Vampire.
Thank you Twilight and Thank you Stephenie Meyer.
